The NUC442/472 Series from Nuvoton includes the NUC442RI8AE model, a 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) of high-performance embedded with the ARM® Cortex®-M4 core. This series is highly versatile and suitable for a variety of applications. This series, including the NUC442RI8AE, is not recommended for new designs (NRND).
Function & Applications:
The NUC442RI8AE MCU is designed to operate within a broad temperature spectrum of - 40 ℃ ~ 105 ℃ and voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, contributing to its use in diverse scenarios. This series targets applications including but not limited to Industrial Automation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Home Automation, USB Accessories, Security Alarm Systems, Portable Data Collectors, Smart Card Readers, Inverters and Motor Control.
The MCU is equipped with DSP and FPU and can perform at a maximum frequency of 84MHz. Element resources include a configurable Data Flash and an internal oscillator with a frequency of 22.1184MHz. For data storage and processing, it boasts 256/512 KB of Flash Memory and 64KB of SRAM. The rich feature-set also comprises two 12-bit ADCs (supporting up to 16 channels) and 16-bit Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) supporting up to 16 channels.

Different package types of this semiconductor device include LQFP64. This MPU integrates a myriad of interface options- 10/100 Mbps Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0 On-the-Go (OTG), two CANs, six UARTs with RS-485 and LIN, four SPIs, five I2Cs (maximum frequency of 1 MHz), and six smart card interfaces.
