Description

Product Description

 

KA44143A is a high efficiency 3-phase brushless motor driver IC with built-in Soft Switching function for low noise operation. It is a direct motor driver so it does not need external power MOSFETS to drive the motor. The driver has an ability to soft switch the MOSFETs, the soft switching period is automatically adjusted based on the motor current to maximize the efficiency of operation. This eliminates the need for individual adjustment of the soft switching period based on the motor’s specifications. By employing the rotor position detector and sine wave PWM drive by 1 Hall sensor, this IC achieves component reduction and miniaturization of motor set as well as motor drive at low noise, low vibration and low power consumption. It also allows the driver to drive the motor in both the directions and control it. With a wide input voltage range of 12V, 24V, this IC is most suitable for usage in home appliances, office automation, and factory automation equipment. It has a sleep mode as well to further increase the efficiency of operation which reduces the current usage when the motor is not in use.

KA44143A is a driver IC for 3-phase brushless motor optimized for fan motors. By employing the rotor position detector and sine wave PWM drive by 1-Hall-sensor, this IC achieves component reduction and miniaturization of motor set as well as motor drive at low noise, low vibration and low power consumption.

Small package: QFN 24L

QFN (quad flat no lead) package is quite small in size and has leads at the edges making it easier to debug and use as well. QFN is one of the commonly used component package size used in portable electronics and its small size makes it perfect for applications where space constraint is very important.

The protections available in this motor controller make sure that the operations of the motor are always safe and there is no danger to the motor or the equipment.

PWM and Linear DC

It has both PWM and Linear DC control options making it suitable for microcontroller based applications and manual control as well giving the user more flexibility in terms of speed control and product design.

Soft Start available

         The availability of Soft start in this pre driver will allow the customization of startup waveform to be customized according to requirement of motor to ensure highest efficiency is always achieved.

Selectable Rotation Direction

The driver can drive the BLDC motor connected in both the directions which makes it suitable to be used in factory and home automation applications.
