The NUC970 Industrial Control Series, developed by Nuvoton, is a powerful and versatile microcontroller series designed for various applications such as Industrial Control, HMI, IoT Gateway, and Smart Home Gateway/Router. Built on the ARM926EJ-S core, it operates at speeds of up to 300 MHz and supports industrial temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 85 °C. Available in 128-pin and 216-pin LQFP packages, the NUC970 series comes with 64 MB or 128 MB of stacked DDR-II memory to minimize PCB size and EMI issues, ensuring optimal performance. The series boasts a wide range of peripherals including 11 sets of UART, 2 sets of Ethernet, SDIO/eMMC, NAND Flash interface, LCD controller, CAN 2.0B, ISO-7816 interface, and High-Speed USB 2.0 host/device controller. This provides design flexibility to meet the requirements of various applications. The NUC970 series includes a TFT-LCD controller (with up to 24-bit RGB support and 1024x768 resolution), as well as a 2D graphic engine for smooth visuals. It supports MJPEG hardware video codecs for efficient video processing. Additionally, the integrated crypto engine facilitates hardware acceleration for AES, triple DES, and SHA functions, with MTP for secure booting. Peripheral features of the NUC970 series comprise up to 2 sets of USB2.0 High-Speed Host/Device, 2 sets of SD Card/SDIO, 2 sets of 10/100 Ethernet MAC, Camera Sensor Interface, 2 sets of CAN Bus, and up to 11 sets of UART/RS485. This variety of peripheral options ensures compatibility with a wide range of external devices and enhances the system's capabilities.
