The W25R64JV, a Serial NOR Flash memory chip, has been developed by Winbond to provide a storage solution for systems with limited space, pins, and power requirements. This 64M-bit/8M-byte memory chip is part of the W25 series, which offers flexibility and performance beyond ordinary Serial Flash devices. Ideal for various applications such as code shadowing to RAM, executing code directly from Dual/Quad SPI (XIP), and storing voice, text, and data, the W25R64JV operates on a single 2.7V to 3.6V power supply with low power consumption.

The W25R64JV supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and comes with Dual/Quad I/O SPI, including Serial Clock, Chip Select, Serial Data I/O0 (DI), I/O1 (DO), I/O2, and I/O3. It supports SPI clock frequencies of up to 133MHz, allowing equivalent clock rates of 266MHz (for Dual I/O) and 532MHz (for Quad I/O) when using the Fast Read Dual/Quad I/O instructions. These transfer rates can outperform standard Asynchronous 8 and 16-bit Parallel Flash memories.

The W25R64JV offers high-performance with 133MHz Single, Dual/Quad SPI clocks. It boasts more than 100,000 erase/program cycles and over a 20-year data retention period. Moreover, it features low power and a wide temperature range, with a single 2.7 to 3.6V supply, 4mA active current, <1µA power-down, and an operating range of -40°C to +85°C.
