The NUC980 Industrial control IoT series is a range of processors developed by Nuvoton, designed to cater to applications like Industrial Control, Industrial IoT Gateway, Network Printer, Meter Concentrator, and Smart Home Gateway. Built on the ARM926EJ-S core, these processors can operate at a maximum frequency of 300 MHz. The series offers 64-pin, 128-pin, and 216-pin LQFP packages that come with 64 MB and 128 MB DDR-II Memory stacks, reducing PCB size and EMI issues. The NUC980 series boasts a rich set of peripherals, including 10 UART sets, dual Ethernet, 4 CAN 2.0B sets, dual SDIO / eMMC interface, NAND Flash interface, QSPI NAND, 8 Ports USB Host, ISO-7816 interface, and a High-Speed USB 2.0 host/device controller. This allows for increased design flexibility. Additionally, the NUC980 integrates a crypto engine that offers hardware acceleration for AES, SHA, ECC, and RSA functions.
